SPRINGBANK DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Individual Skill Development
This fall we are offering two distinct programs at the Springbank Arena as follows:
PERFECT SKATING
This core program brings focus to the posture, stride mechanics and the building blocks of neuromuscular coordination of the full set of hockey specific skating movements. This is our core program and sets a good foundation from which to grow.
ELITE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
These custom programs start with a conversation between the athlete(s) and coaches to determine an appropriate focus based on the skill gaps and desired skill development. Available in a small group setting with similar athletes, these programs allow coaches to develop specific skills while building upon the core concepts that athletes have previously learned in our Perfect Skating Program.
Key points on both programs include:
- Instructional material and methods are actively developed by Shawn Allard, a former professional hockey player and is the world’s most sought-after movement and performance coach for NHL athletes.
- Movement sequences are added in a progression designed to provide players with methodically drilled alternatives to escape, create and dominate play in defensive scenarios.
- Instruction at 4:1 ratios, thus ensuring players receive the necessary feedback on technique on every rep.
Registration includes a Perfect Skating jersey and socks.
